Cephalaria anamurensis (Caprifoliaceae), a new species from south Anatolia, Turkey
A new species, Cephalaria anamurensis (Caprifoliaceae) is described and illustrated from south Anatolia, Turkey. The species grows on steppe and stony places in Anamur (C4 Mersin province) in south Anatolia. Diagnostic morphological characters from closely similar taxa are discussed. The geographical distribution of the new species and two closely related species in Turkey are mapped.
متن کاملStudies on Seed Morphology of Campanula L. Section Quinqueloculares (boiss.) Phitos (campanulaceae) in Turkey
Morphological features of seeds of 9 species of Campanula L., section Quinqueloculares (Boiss.) Phitos (Campanulaceae) which are distributed in Turkey were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Characteristics of the seeds and their surface are described and compared. Two main types and two subtypes of surface ornamentation patterns are observed. These can be considered as diagnos...
متن کاملA new species of Psorodonotus (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae) from Anatolia, Turkey.
Descriptions of a new species of Tettigoniinae; Psorodonotus suphani sp. n. from Turkey were given. The relationships between the new species and closest taxa (morphologically and geographically) were evaluated by using morphological characters. Ultimately, some remarkable points of the distribution pattern of the species were presented.
متن کاملNew microsatellite markers for Campanula scheuchzeri (Campanulaceae), with cross-amplification in C. rotundifolia1
PREMISE OF THE STUDY We developed new microsatellite primers for the alpine bellflower Campanula scheuchzeri. Allelic polymorphisms will be used to study differentiation along elevation gradients of C. scheuchzeri populations and in the co-occurring sister-species C. rotundifolia in the Alps. METHODS AND RESULTS We analyzed C. scheuchzeri from three high-elevation sites and C. rotundifolia fr...
متن کاملNew microsatellite markers for Campanula pyramidalis (Campanulaceae) and cross-amplification in closely related species1
PREMISE OF THE STUDY Microsatellite markers were identified and characterized to study the genetic diversity and structure, conservation status, taxonomy, and biogeography of subspecific taxa and populations of Campanula pyramidalis (Campanulaceae). METHODS AND RESULTS Eleven microsatellite markers were developed from genomic libraries enriched for di- and trinucleotide repeats. A total of 80...
